Works great in my basement |

| My basement runs about 80% humidity all year round and stays about a constant 62 as well.I have had this unit running for a month and it has done everything I have asked of it.The basement is 1200 square foot and this dehumidifier has lowered the humidity to 55% which is where I have it set.I have it hosed to a drain and it is fairly loud on the high setting. The only negative I would note is the bucket seems a little flimsy if you are opting not to hose it to a drain.Actually it is the handle of the bucket that is suspect.Overall very happy with this product. |
WORKS! Really, really, really well! |

| I bought the dehumidifier about a month ago, and have been using it in my incredibly humid bedroom. It removes a LOT of moisture in the air up there. The space is about 400 sq feet, and there is no more condensation on any of the windows, not even the ones all the way across the room from it.
I don't recommend running it at night though, as it will dehumidify YOU! It's also a bit noisy and blows cold air. But it has really helped a LOT in keeping mold at bay, especially, which is something we worry about here in the Pacific NW. It is very easy to empty, and on average probably removes at least two gallons of air from the room a DAY. -H |

| Got this unit for a great price from stacks and stacks! Great delivery time, well packaged for shipping. Unit works great so far, noise is not too bad, but it is a 70 pint, going to be louder than smaller units, as expected. I am running this in my utility room of an otherwise finished basement, so I am usually not in the same room with it trying to watch TV or listen to music.
I always seem to over-research things like this before buying, glad I did this time, perfectly happy with this unit and would definitely recommend the product and the seller! |
Best dehumidifier yet |

| I have had several dehumifiers, but this is the quietest yet. I bought it because I already had a smaller one from the same manufacturer and loved it. This model is equally as good. Easy to operate, quiet, functional, looks good too. Worth the extra money, you get what you pay for. |

| Dehumidifier works as described. Relatively quiet. We have it in our basement, and can't hear it upstairs. That's a good thing. We also have an older dehumidifier and it CAN be heard upstairs.
The Soleus filter is easy to clean, and it just hums along keeping my basement dry. Delivery was slow though. It took longer than usual to receive the product. We're satisfied though. |
Soleus DP1-70 is highly effective dehumidifier |

| The Soleus Air DP1-70 arrived in perfect condition via UPS. Packaging was intelligently designed and protected the unit well.
My old unit was all metal but now this is all plastic. However, everything fit well and it was up and operating in just a few minutes. The controls are intuitive, smartly layed out with easy to read large digital numbers. Everything is easy to use and understand. The noise is relatively modest in "full thrust" mode and you can also control the fan speed to reduce noise even further. It makes a rushing air noise that is not objectionable at all nor does the sound carry into adjacent rooms. The Soleus is truly impressive in its ability to remove moisture from the air rapidly. I checked the units humidity setting accuracy to a reference humidistat. The Soleus was almost spot on. The unit is energy star rated, has automatic restart, and will shut off if water container is full. It is also cosmetically pleasing to look at. It has a retractable handle on top and casters to move it about easily. Other reviewers have stated it is reliable over time. I hope to enjoy it for years. Very smartly designed unit and I recommend it. |
Dehumidifier works great!! |

| My old dehumidifier died and we needed to replace it so I checked all the reviews for different dehumidifiers and this one kept coming up with great reviews. Yes, it is a bit noisy, but it pulls the musty smell out of the air and has been pumping out a full bucket every day and it's not even summer yet. I live in Georgia so the weather here in summer is very humid and our lower level has always been very humid and smelled musty and slightly moldy, but since running this every day at 50% humidity it is perfect down there and I enjoy being in the lower level again. Thank you Soleus for making a great unit. |

| After doing a great deal of research, I purchased the Soleus 70 pt. dehumidifier. It works well in our finished basement area and can function at low temperatures. Emptying the unit is easy with the unit's container that has a great carrying handle. Easy to use and delivered quickly from company. |

| This Dehumidifier is great for what it's there for. The basement is actually liveable space again now that it's not damp and moldy. It's a little noisy, but that's what you would expect from devices like this. 5 stars, A+! |

| I'm using it in my grage. I have an insulated garage and in the winter it sits around 50 degrees. When we pull the cars in covered with snow it melts and the humidity was well into the 80% range. The humidifer works great and pulls it down into 50% which I have it set at. Works great at the lower temperature. Definitely recommend. |

Love this dehumidifyer |

| Recieved this unit by Fed EX. Package really beat up unpon arrival. Even the inside box had damage. However the dehumidifyer survived the trip ok. WDorks nicely. It is not noisey as I expected. Plan on leaving it in my home all summer running with the hose draining into my ditchen sink. Any old piece of garden hose will wdork. Not necessary to buy the hose sepeerastly if you have an old hose you can cut a piece off of. Ran alot at first but now has settled down and keeps the house atd 40% humidity with no trouble. Would highly recommend this unit. I have another unit up north that is bigger but is not as nice as this one. |

| Works as advertised - dried out our basement very quickly and is keeping it dry. Unbelievable how sensitive it is - when placed in the gym, it actually detects the increased humidity from running on the treadmill. Very easy to empty and clean the filter. |
Quiet Compressor - water level sight glass is helpful. |
| Review Date: June 30, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Paul I Nichols Jr, |
| This is about the fourth different brand of dehumidifier I have purchased over the last 10 or 15 years. Nothing seems to last too long anymore - but this one has a new style of compressor if I remember the ad correctly and it is very quiet. In fact you can't hear if the compressor is even turning on and off when the fan is on med or high. Bucket has cool sight glass with a floating ball, so you can see the water level, but I switched to hose connection and that works fine also. Fan air direction blows upward, which at first seemed strange, but it does allow unit to be placed against a wall and since it sucks in from the front most likely creates more complete room air circulation. The relative humidity gauge is worthless however, as it is 10% higher than the three others I placed in the room as a double check. They are all withing 5 degrees of each other. Perhaps it's location is too near the condensing water, thus causing a high reading, but as long as you are aware of it's inaccuracies and make appropriate adjustments, all is ok. It is either poor engineering of the placement of the sensor or a cheap relative humidity analyzer. You would think that would be one of the most important items on a dehumidifier - an accurate reading of the humidity. All in all, this appears to be the best made, most reasonably priced unit I have bought to date. If it lasts more than 3 years I will be elated. (Well maybe just satisfied - getting elated over a dehumidifier is kind of a sad commentary on my life.) |
wish i would have bought it sooner |

| i went a whole summer with a muggy garden apartment, not sure what to look for in a dehumidifier, and not sure if it would be worth it. it was unpleasant to say the least. this summer, though, i was determined to not wake up in a cold sweat every morning, and i did some research. i decided on this model, and i regret not getting one last year.
running it for the recommended 24 hours when i first got it, i emptied the 70 pint reservoir at least three times...which was relatively painless as the bucket has a sturdy handle to lug it around. i liked that the walls were high enough so water wasn't sloshing around too much while carrying it. i couldn't believe how quickly my apartment went from a damp, uncomfortable dungeon of sorts, to an arid paradise in just a day! the overall construction seems solid, and the wheels make it easy to move around even on carpet. even on the low fan setting, it's kind of loud, but it didn't keep me up at night if it was running in the other room. when it switches on after it detects the humidity to be too high, my lights dim a bit for a second, so i question its power consumption during operation. still, it hasn't bothered me since i usually run it during the day while i'm not around. i use it every few days to keep my place nice and dry, but i found you can definitely over use it because sometimes my throat gets really dry, as does my skin. i would totally recommend this unit as i'm completely satisfied with how well it works. |

Awesome product - works great - VERY QUIET and pulls the water out nicely. Big multi gallon container has a nice handle and is very easy to empty without spilling - It comes with a drain hose but I don't have a drain to utilize it on... No problems. After reading some of the nightmare reviews on other dehumidifier's I would take this safe bet. From out of box to setup about 10 minutes and it is on rollers with a long power cord as well. Energy Star is the way to go... GREEN. |
VERY Nice unit. |

| I would recommend this unit. We have it in the basement (unfinished, and about 1800 sq.ft.) and on the first night (about an 8 hour period), it took the moisture form 85% to 65%. There was a HUGE difference when I went in the basement the next morning. We have it plumbed in near the washing machine and its runs all the time. Reading the other reviews, I guess it is a little noisy on the highest setting, but we don't hear it from the floor above, as long as it keeps our "stuff" MUCH dryer than before. We have a forced hot air system with AC and I guess it actually does the whole house which is another 1800 sq. ft!!!
It's less expensive than some of the "higher" end stuff, and I was going to at least try this one out before committing to more expensive units. If I were to get another one for any reason, I would get this one again. Definitely LOVE the unit and VERY satisfied! |

| We have owned several dehumidifiers over the years....this one seems to be the best one that we have ever purchased. It was bought for our basement and has been collecting water continuously. The bottom drawer slides easily to empty the collected water. It was a reasonable price and a good choice for us. |
Working great so far! Electric usage a little on the high side though. |

| I just bought this dehumidifier yesterday 5/30/10 and have now been running it for 24 hours straight. So far it have removed about 3 buckets full of water and counting! It seems that dehumidifiers aren't lasting as long as they used to so if I have problems with the unit I will certainly update my post here.
What I like: - The unit is relatively quiet. I have mine in the basement and I can't hear it. There are three fan settings so if noise is a problem you can adjust it. - There is a digital hygrometer built-in and you can set the unit to shut off after it reaches a certain humidity level. What I don't like: - Hygrometer only measures in 5% increments. - Water pan is small for the size of the unit. There is a hose attachment option, but I like to collect the water for watering plants. Tips if you are looking to purchase this dehumidifier: - Check out Menards, they have it for $199.00. Best price I've found so far. - Consider purchasing an extended warranty. I purchased the SquareTrade 3 yr warranty for about $22 (I found a 20% off coupon online). I don't usually get extended warranties, but from the many reviews of failed dehumidifiers I've read it seems well worth the money. - Electric usage can be substantial. Keep in mind that the 70-pint unit uses about 700 watts of electricity. The smaller units use less electricity so make sure you purchase the proper size. This means that if the unit is running 24/7 for 30 days it will consume about 500 KWH. I live in Michigan where the rate per KWH is about $.11 meaning that the above usage will cost me ~$55.00. Each state is different so your costs may vary. There are two settings that can help prevent the unit from running all the time. The first is the timer which can be set for 2 or 4 hours, the second is the hygrometer which you can set to CO "Continuously On" or a humidity percentage. For example, I have set my dehumidifier to 45%, once the humidity drops below 45% the unit will turn off. You should note that even though there is a fan setting of High, Medium and Low, from my tests using a Kill-A-Watt the electricity usage stayed the same for all three fan settings so I see no benefit (other than noise levels) from changing this setting. |

| This Soleus unit simply does what it is supposed to do and does it well. For us, it took a very damp basement from 87% relative humidity to 50% in only a couple of days. The unit looks nice and the noise level is not bad. It is easy to empty the water bucket. We've had the unit for a couple of weeks now and would cheerfully recommend it to someone else.Soleus Air DP1-70-03 70-Pint Portable Energy Star Dehumidifier |
